Progress on projects, a video submission and Covid19

We live in unusual times. Work continues nonetheless, and it is time for a news update.

Following the shutdown, all of the construction sites we are dealing with are currently on hold. This is not because of the builders cannot work, rather because the builders merchants are closed, and supplies have dried up. They are all keen to crack on once the shutdown is lifted.

The upside of this, is that as a client it is a good time to start a project. Your planning application can be working its way through the system, and detailed design completed for builders to tender. Hopefully if you are quick, you will also get a good tender price to start work this year.

We have just done a submission for a new housing project for Hillfields Community Group in Bristol. As it is not possible to meet face to face, the shortlisted architects were asked to prepare a video submission, which the public will vote on. You can see the video from Askew Cavanna and three other Bristol architects here: https://www.hillfields.community/housing-project -click the logos to see the video.

Whilst we cannot show progress photos for Fairash Farm, we are excited to have some new visualisations of the designs some of which re shown below -this is going to be a pair of stunning new houses. Visit our page on Fairash Farm to read more.
